On December 10, 2021, the Third Symposium on carbon material technology and market for semiconductors was held in Changsha, Hunan. The semiconductor industry is an important basic and leading industry, the material foundation of a new round of industrial revolution, the support and guarantee of strategic emerging industries and high-end manufacturing industries, and the key field of high-tech competition among countries. Carbon materials such as high-purity graphite and carbon / carbon composites play an important role in the semiconductor industry as the indispensable key auxiliary materials in the production of semiconductor silicon single crystal, downstream etching, epitaxy and other processes. In recent years, with the rapid development of China's semiconductor industry, the market demand for these materials has increased rapidly, and higher requirements for manufacturing technology and quality have been put forward, which undoubtedly provides a great opportunity for the upgrading of traditional carbon material enterprises. In 2019 and 2020, the first and second seminars on carbon materials for semiconductors were held in Wuxi and Chengdu respectively. The participants highly praised the speech and discussion contents of the conference, which greatly promoted the technical exchange among peers, better promoted the integration of industry, University and research, and strengthened the deep integration between the upstream and downstream industrial chains.
